Morpheus8: The Nonsurgical Facelift Everyone Is Raving About
There’s a cosmetic treatment that has lots of people talking, from folks in the Lakewood area to an editor at Cosmopolitan. And it’s no surprise. It’s giving people a way to tighten and transform their skin without surgery or extensive downtime.
It’s Morpheus8™, and we offer it right here at Elevation Dermatology.
Morpheus8 is part of our selection of cosmetic dermatology services. At our office here in Lakewood, Colorado, Kim Neyman, MD, and Nazanin Kalani Williams, MD, FAAD, use it to help people tap into the latest technology to transform their skin.
How Morpheus8 works for your skin
Morpheus8 blends two types of treatments into one: radiofrequency and microneedling. Together, these give you a powerful way to activate your skin’s innate regenerative abilities.
Morpheus8 works by creating tiny pinpricks in the surface of your skin while sending radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers. This tricks your skin into thinking it’s been injured, and it goes to work repairing the area.
Because there’s actually nothing to repair, though, it applies its healing capabilities to generating new, healthy skin cells. At the same time, it also makes new collagen and elastin, the proteins that help to keep your skin tight, smooth, and elastic.
All of this means that Morpheus8 can help with:
- Fine lines
- Hyperpigmentation, including sun and age spots
- Large pores
- Lax skin
- Scars, including acne scars
Morpheus8 works differently from other radiofrequency microneedling treatments in that it sends the radiofrequency energy into deeper layers of your skin. This helps to drive an even more noticeable transformation.
Because it can penetrate deeply, we can also use Morpheus8 on the skin of your body. Some people choose this treatment to help with stretch marks or cellulite.
What to expect with Morpheus8
We tailor the Morpheus8 treatment to you. The radiofrequency microneedling device has different modes and settings that we can adjust based on your specific cosmetic goals.
Once you’re ready to start treatment, we start by applying a numbing cream to your skin. Then, we move the Morpheus8 applicator over your skin in the areas you want to target. Treatment usually takes an hour or less.
You might have some redness, swelling, or minor bruising afterward, but it should fade in a day or two. Lots of people get Morpheus8 treatment in the afternoon, then go back to their usual activities the next day.
Treatment doesn’t work overnight. It takes time for your skin to do its regenerative work. You should start to notice some results within a few weeks, and those can continue improving for up to six months.
